Terms of use
Effective and last updated: 1 August 2026
These terms are a binding agreement between you and Roman Sisik, the Slovakia-based operator of Cinejma. By accessing or using Cinejma, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Cinejma is a browser-based video editor currently offered without user registration and without charge. Most editing and storage happens on your device. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the service for lawful personal or commercial creative work, subject to these terms.
Cinejma is under active development. Features, formats, compatibility, limits, and availability may change. We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time. Where mandatory law requires notice or another remedy, we will provide it.
2. Eligibility and authority
You may use Cinejma only if you can legally enter into this agreement. If you use it for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation, and “you” includes it. Minors may use the service only with any permission and supervision required by applicable law.
3. Your media, projects, and responsibility
You keep all rights you have in media, projects, text, and other material you use with Cinejma. Because project content is processed locally, you do not grant us a licence to it merely by editing it in the service.
You are solely responsible for your material and outputs, including their accuracy, quality, legality, clearance, publication, and backup. You represent that you have all permissions necessary to use, edit, combine, export, and distribute them. This includes copyright, trade mark, privacy, publicity, music, performer, location, and contractual rights. Cinejma does not review or clear your content.
Browser storage is not a backup service. Site-data clearing, storage pressure, browser behaviour, software defects, device failure, or loss of file permissions can remove projects or make media unavailable. Keep original media and regularly export project packages and finished work.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use Cinejma to:
- violate law or another person’s rights, or create, possess, or distribute material where doing so is unlawful;
- introduce malware, exploit vulnerabilities, bypass security or technical limits, or interfere with the service or other users;
- probe or access systems or data without authorisation, impersonate others, or facilitate fraud or abuse;
- automate requests, scrape, mirror, resell access to, or place disproportionate load on the hosted service without written permission; or
- reverse engineer or circumvent protected parts of the service except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits and does not allow that right to be waived.
We may block or restrict access where we reasonably believe it is necessary to enforce these terms, protect the service or others, comply with law, or respond to a security risk.
5. Cinejma and third-party rights
Cinejma, its design, branding, and original software and content are owned by Roman Sisik or the relevant licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. No ownership is transferred to you. These terms do not grant rights to use the Cinejma name, logo, or branding.
The service includes or can load third-party software, codecs, fonts, and other components. Separate open-source or third-party licence terms govern those components and take precedence for them where applicable. Your use of third-party formats, patents, codecs, music, fonts, or services may require rights or licences not supplied by Cinejma.
6. Feedback
If you voluntarily send ideas or feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use, adapt, and incorporate it without restriction or compensation. This does not transfer ownership of your media or projects.
7. No professional advice
Cinejma and any documentation or output estimates are tools, not legal, licensing, archival, security, accessibility, broadcast-compliance, or other professional advice. You must independently verify an output before relying on, publishing, delivering, or deleting source material based on it.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cinejma is provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, compatible with any browser, device, codec, file, or workflow, or that previews and exports will be accurate, complete, playable, lossless, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, title, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage.
Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, conformity obligation, remedy, or other right that mandatory consumer law does not permit the parties to exclude.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roman Sisik and Cinejma’s suppliers and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential loss, or for loss or corruption of media, projects, exports, data, profits, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, or anticipated savings, arising from or related to the service—even if advised that such loss was possible.
For users acting in the course of a trade, business, craft, or profession, our total aggregate liability arising from or related to Cinejma or these terms will not exceed the greater of EUR 50 or the amount you paid us for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These exclusions and limits apply regardless of the legal theory and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for intentional misconduct or fraud, or for death or personal injury where applicable law prohibits its exclusion. Your mandatory rights as a consumer are not restricted.
10. Indemnity for business misuse
If you use Cinejma in the course of a trade, business, craft, or profession, you will indemnify and hold Roman Sisik harmless from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising from your unlawful material, your infringement of third-party rights, or your material breach of these terms. This section does not apply to consumers and does not cover losses caused by us.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy policy explains how technical service data and device-local storage are handled. It is not part of these terms unless applicable law provides otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to Cinejma, law, security, or our business. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented with reasonable advance notice where practical and required. Changes do not apply retroactively. If you do not accept revised terms, stop using the service before they take effect.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms and non-contractual disputes relating to them are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts of the Slovak Republic have jurisdiction, except that a consumer keeps the benefit of mandatory protections and any right to bring proceedings in another court granted by the law of the country where the consumer habitually resides.
Before filing a claim, please contact roman@sisik.eu so we can try to resolve it informally. This does not shorten a limitation period or restrict a right to seek urgent relief or use a mandatory consumer dispute procedure.
14. General terms
If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remainder will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it as part of a transfer of Cinejma, subject to mandatory law. These terms are the entire agreement about anonymous use of the service and supersede earlier statements on that subject.
